Solus

A solo dance-theatre film choreographed and performed by Isaac Irvine, exploring solitude, memory, and emotional survival.

SOLUS is a 10-minute devised performance film choreographed and performed by Isaac Irvine. Created during the Covid-19 lockdown, the work explores the psychological and emotional terrain of isolation through stripped-back movement, gesture, and presence.

Using a language of repetition, suspension, and release, Irvine inhabits an intimate space where time folds in on itself and the body becomes both witness and storyteller. His choreography draws from lived experience—subtle, embodied, and emotionally charged—inviting viewers into a meditative reflection on vulnerability and resilience.

Directed collaboratively with a small creative team, SOLUS is visually minimalist yet rich in emotional texture. It aligns with Irvine’s wider practice of using movement and immersive storytelling to explore identity, transformation, and the unspoken. A quiet and affecting work, SOLUS shows the expressive power of the solo body when the world has gone still.
